2022 rebrand
In 2022 UFC refreshed their broadcast package after a successful 7-year run on their previous package. This time with a focus on implementing better storytelling about the fighters, real-time betting and social media and overall better production value. We kept a lot of that same fast-paced editorial style editing from the 2015 package. We wanted to give the package overall more depth with the use of greater environments and to use the octagon more when we could as a design element. We wanted to be more explosive with typography as if the type is landing punches.
2015 rebrand
the 2015 UFC rebrand was their first since they launched in 2001. They needed to position themselves as a mainstream sport and the leader of MMA.
It was a massive 9 month project that encompassed a full brand identity redesign, broadcast packaging, marketing and promo toolkits and commercials.
I was part of the broadcast design team as a designer to help create a wide variety of design systems across dozens of layouts.
